I am passing along this glimpse of one woman's insanity that I found on Sarcomical.
Hooooleeee CRAP. Literally. Crap, that is. Lots of it. Check it out. You simply won't believe it.
It's enough to drive someone like me, who you all know and love as the world's biggest fucking neatfreak, apeshit. Dear GOD. I feel all twitchy and yuckywonkas just looking at it.
And also, strangely intrigued.

that is the result of a mental disorder called hoarding. it falls in to the OCD (of which you are familiar) arena. "cat ladies" are also in the same category.

This isn't bad. It is neat and organized. When I did professional organizing in FL, I was in homes like this where all their stuff was just FLUNG around the room...with only a 2 foot wide path to walk from room to room.
Obviously I agree with Hubs...this lady is a huge hoarder.
Her son will have to take care of things either now on the sly or when she dies.
I knew 2 ladies like this.
One was a home shopping addict. She would buy several of an item in all the sizes. When she passed away and left the house to my great-aunt and another neighbor they spent a month cleaning it out.
The other was my grandmas neighbor and she had 80 years of accumulated junk; yarn, newspapers and mail. When she passed away her family rented one of those roll off dumptsers (the size you see at construction sites) and spent months cleaning the place out.
those photos (and his comments) makes me sad ... she's obviously suffering from a mental illness and isn't getting help
